During Chinese New Year festival we will be giving extra gift such as 'Ang Bao' or red packet and Oranges to needy villagers.

Food parcels on table is ready for distribution once villager arrive.

Standby volunteers help villagers in getting their size and fitting to the clothing.

We arrange all clothing collected from donor to distribute to all villagers.

Preparation and lay out all the items for the villages. Some extra table is needed for the service.

Indonesia earthquake: 15 dead as thousands evacuate Java

A powerful earthquake rattled Indonesia's main island of Java on Wednesday, killing at least 15 people and forcing thousands to evacuate, the country's disaster management agency said.

"Many houses are flattened to the ground," said Edi Sapuan in Margamukti village, not far from Tasikmalaya. "Only the wooden houses remain standing. Many villagers are injured, covered in blood."
The quake was felt as far away as Surabaya, Indonesia's second-largest city, about 300 miles northeast of Tasikmalaya, and on the resort island of Bali, about 435 miles to the east.
At least 27 people were injured in Jakarta, a health ministry official said.
Hundreds of people sheltered in a military base in Tasikmalaya, fearing that the initial powerful quake would be followed by aftershocks, an official at the disaster management agency said.
Indonesia's main power, oil and gas, steel, and mining companies with operations in West and Central Java island closest to the quake's epicentre said they had not been affected and suffered no damage.
Local tsunami warnings were issued for coastal areas within several hundred miles of the epicentre soon after it struck, but were withdrawn about half an hour later.

Jesus fills the boat with fish. From this time on the disciples leave their ships and fishing and follow Jesus everywhere (Luke 5:1-11).

The Setting for the Miracle
(5:1-3)

Jesus was standing by the Sea of Galilee, which Luke calls the “lake of Gennesaret” (v. 1).⁹² Around Him a crowd had gathered, listening to Him proclaim the word of God. Beyond the crowd of those who were pressing in on the Lord Jesus, there was the sea of Galilee, and two ships were pulled up on the shore. One ship belonged to Peter (v. 3), and the other belonged to James and John (vv. 7, 10). These four fishermen were not among the crowd. Instead, they were off washing their nets (v. 2). They had spent a long and fruitless night fishing (5).

The amazing thing about this scene is that the wrong people seem to be close to our Lord, and likewise the wrong people seem to be at a distance. You would think that the disciples, Peter and Andrew, James and John, who had spent much time with Jesus, would be those in the inner circle, closest to the Master. Instead, the crowds pressed upon Jesus, and the disciples were at a distance, tending to business, washing their nets. They no doubt looked on with some interest as they worked, but they were surprisingly detached from the Master and from the crowd.

Jesus’ appearance at the lake is, in my opinion, not coincidental. I believe that He purposed to be there, knowing that this is where the disciples would be. It is no accident that the boat into which our Lord stepped, and from which He taught, was Peter’s (v. 3). Jesus seems to merely be doing that which would make His speaking more effective and efficient, as well as providing a way of escape from the crowds when He was finished. I believe, however, that Jesus was seeking the disciples. It was time for them to become permanently attached to Him, accompanying Him wherever He went. The time for a deeper level of commitment and involvement had come. The appearance at the lake that day was for the purpose of bringing about a life-changing decision on the part of Peter and his companions. Jesus would momentarily use the boat as His pulpit, but He was intent on making fishermen fishers of men.

Sai Baba himself engages in distribution of food to the poor, distribution of clothing, and has always conducted this service since the announcement of his divinity. In days past, "narayana seva" used to take place on the sands of the Chitravathri River. Now, as ever, this is done annually as part of the Easwaramma Day Festival, and the celebration of His Birthday. Sathya Sai Baba has always set the example for his devotees.

In Puttaparthi, health, water and education to the highest level are free. In the surrounding environs, called the Sri Sathya Sai Taluk, consisting of 100 local villages, Sai Baba has the full responsibility for the health, education and welfare of all those villages and their amenities. This is done free of charge.

Throughout India, The Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation is organised into service units. These service units voluntarily provide free medical camps, village cleaning, spiritual education for children, and education for villagers in public health and welfare. No donations or charges for such activities are taken up.

Throughout India, over 1000 primary and secondary schools have been funded by the Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust.

The graduating students are encouraged by Sai Baba to dismiss pressure of parents and the calls of fabulous overseas working environment and salary and return to the village, sharing their wealth with local villagers in order to improve local conditions from within and not without.

This evidence offered amply illustrates both integrity and the positive impact on society at large by Sathya Sai Baba. each element of impact is an element in the mission, the fostering of the vedas through the devotional wing of the Sai Organisations, the fostering of the vedic scholars through the Upanayanam ceremonies, expositions on Gayathri Mantra and installation of varia Shrines, divine discourses, the celebration of Maha Shivarathri, Guru Pournmima and Dassera Festivals all over India. The spiritual awakening continues with the ages long tradition of Akhand Bhajans at both Maha Shivarathri and prior to Baba's birthday. More recently, emergence of Hiranyagarbha, the Golden Lingham.

The restoration of righteousness has been served by both the guiding and touchstone principle of the Avatar and all the Sai Colleges: sathyam vada, dharmam chara, speak truthfully and act righteously. This has disseminated throughout the length and breadth of India through the inculcation of the 5 Human Values into the hearts and minds of all devotees engaged in selfless service: Truth, Love, Peace, Right Conduct and Non-violence.

Sathya Sai Baba, born Sathyanarayana Raju on 23 November 1926, is a popular South Indian guru, religious figure and educator. He is described by his devotees as an avatar, godman, spiritual teacher and miracle worker.

Sai Baba is one of the most revered spiritual masters alive in the world today. He was born on November 23rd 1926 in the village of Puttaparthi in South India. He has established His Ashram there which is known as "Prasanthi Nilayam" or "The abode of Supreme Peace." Millions of spiritual seekers visit the ashram every year to receive His blessings.

Sathya Say Baba is quietly transforming the world by re-establishing the eternal values of truth, right action, peace, love and non-violence in everyday lining. he has millions of followers of all faiths and all races in countries all over the world who congregate every week to sing the glories of God and spread his message of love to unite all mankind.

As a child, Sai Baba demonstrated the qualities of compassion, wisdom and the desire to serve others. He also demonstrated great respect for elders. In the daily course of his activities he displayed remarkable miraculous powers which he used to help his fellow students and others in the community who come seeking his assistance. He also demonstrated a talent in drama, music and dance. Service expresses the divinity hidden in man. It broadens one's heart, it destroys narrow-mindedness, and it gives delight. The evil qualities and tendencies in us can be driven away through service.

To remove the evil of egoism, service is the most efficient instrument.

Service is the highest spiritual discipline. Prayer and meditation, or knowledge of scripture and Vedanta (holy scriptures of India), cannot help you reach the goal as quickly as service can. Service has a double effect: it extinguishes the ego and gives bliss.

The joy one gets while promoting another's joy is incomparable.

Service is the first step along the spiritual path.

If you lift the hand to serve, to help, to console, to encourage another man, you are lifting it for God, for God is in every man.

How can anyone contemplate on God - who loves the poor and the grief-stricken - and yet be cold-hearted when the poor and the grief-stricken are around them?

Hands that serve are holier than lips that pray.

You have no reason to feel proud when you are able to help another, for your skill or wealth or strength or courage or official position that gave you the chance to serve was the gift of God, whether you recognize it or not. You are only offering this God's gift to another God's gift, namely the poor, the illiterate, the weak, the diseased, the grieving, the broken-hearted, who seek your help.

Man has become so selfish that he does not care for others, or anything other than his own welfare . . . One who constantly thinks of his own body, his own family, his own wealth and his own comfort is truly a selfish man. The only way to cleanse such a hard-hearted man is through service to humanity.

God is the embodiment of compassion. He watches for a grain of goodness or humility so that He can reward it with tons of grace. Deserve the grace of God by helping the weak and the poor, the diseased and the downtrodden.

Constant work in loving service to others covers the seeds of past sinful and harmful actions, so that they die away and do not grow into a new round of misery.

Service without ideal of self . . . trains you to transcend all the artificial distinctions imposed by history and geography, and to realize that the human community is one and indivisible.

A wave of service, if it sweeps over the land catching everyone in its enthusiasm, will be able to wipe off the mounds of hatred, malice and greed that infest the world.

Do not believe that you can by means of service reform or reshape the world. You may or may not; that does not matter. The real value of service, its most visible result, is that it reforms you, reshapes you. Do service as a spiritual discipline; then you will be humble and happy.

Through service rendered without any desire to placate one's ego, with only the well-being of others in view, it is possible to cleanse the consciousness and have the atma (true inner self that is divine) revealed.
